I have a doctorate in clinical psychology, a certificate in psychoanalysis, and am licensed to practice in Pennsylvania. Clinical psychologists are mental health professionals who are trained in psychotherapy and psychotherapeutic assessment. Typically, training includes four or five years of classroom instruction and seeing clients, followed by two years or more of intensive training in psychotherapy and areas of specialization.
Teaching and supervision have also been important aspects of my work. I have taught courses or lectured on psychotherapy, psychological assessment, family therapy, sexual trauma, loss and grief, and psychological reactions to medical illnesses including cancer and stroke.
